Meet The Team
Ooldouz, Owner & Floral Designer:
Before The English Garden, Ooldouz moved halfway around the world to the bustling streets of New York City to pursue her passion for visual art. She completed a Master’s in Photography from the School of Visual Arts which solidified her keen eye for artistic form, shape and composition. Today, you’ll still see her photography documenting the whimsical arrangements we create. After completing her postgraduate studies Ooldouz still wanted to pursue a long-time dream, something that was closer to the vibrant nature she loved yet brought her artistic sensibilities into a new medium. You guessed it, working with flowers. Ooldouz attended the prestigious Flower School New York which allowed her to blend this background in art, love of nature and unique cultural heritage to create ingenious, distinctive designs. Ooldouz then moved to sunny California to run The English Garden next to wildflower covered hills in Westlake Village. She continues the store’s rich reputation for quality and a timeless, yet modern whimsical style.
Katie, Floral Designer: Katie resides in Austin, Texas and is the positive bubble in our store! She has worked in florals for over 20 years and with The English Garden for 13. Her favorite flower is the Icelandic Poppy "because you never know what you'll get"! She has freelanced all over the United States and has helped curate weddings across the country. You can find her practicing Lagree and Versa Fit or sipping on Australian Savignon Blanc while visiting the family cabin in Minnesota!
Erin, Floral Designer: Erin is a California native and a true flower lover! She has worked in florals for over 10 years and has partnered with our team since March of 2023. You can find her favorite flowers artiscally represented thru her tattos, which feature dahlias, peonies, protea, and orchids. On her days off she takes care of her terror-puppy, Tater Tot, and tries new beers all over Ventura County!
Rich Grossman, The Delivery Guy: Over two years ago, Rich helped out the previous owner of The English Garden in a pinch on a busy Valentine’s weekend, delivering flowers. Surprisingly, he was able to use his gift of photography, as he always takes pictures of the happy recipients with their beautiful floral arrangements. That temporary favor turned into a pleasant part-time job for this active "senior". His other creative talent as a bass guitarist keeps him very busy and has taken him to all parts of the world. When he’s not with us, it’s usually because he’s doing a gig or touring.
